Posts Tagged “thanks”

This is an e-mail I wrote to my LiveVideo fans recently after an unfortunate incident that occurred to me. I thought I would post it on my blog to not only thank them, but also bring to light a growing but often not discussed issue online, and that’s the rampant use of hate speech and racism on these new media type sites that really need to be controlled. Thanks again to my Black Nerd Live/LiveVideo fans and subscribers.

Yesterday, I got the opportunity to go to the offices of Revver.com and meet all the fine folks up there. They had been featuring a couple of my videos recently, and once we discovered we were in the same area, it seemed inevitable that we had to come face to face.

Revver logoSo here we are, Revver, face to face. A couple of silver spoons. Hoping to find, we’re two of a kind… okay, I’ll stop singing now.

Blue RibbonThank you all so very very very very much! Yes, it’s official! “Buy Mii a Wii” has over 100,000 views on YouTube alone!

This is the first Black Nerd Comedy video with this honor. And those views don’t even count the thousands of views on Revver, MySpace, Metacafe, and the people who posted my video on CollegeHumor, GameTrailers, and elsewhere.

I can’t help but to thank you, my fans, friends, and supporters, for sending it through MySpace, Facebook, e-mails, and embeds. A huge thank you to all of the blogs and websites out there who posted it on their site for news and discussions.

Special thanks to Nintendo for making this wonderful video game system, the Wii, for without it, I’d have no song to sing. And T-Pain as well, for making the perfect song to use to parody the wonderful system.

And if, for some strange, weird, possibly alien abducted, reason you still haven’t seen this music video, or if you want to get the YouTube video up to 200,000 views (and why not?) here it is for you to enjoy! Thank you again.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2008 full of joy, cheer, and of course, lots of black nerd comedy. You know, for the first time in years, I actually kissed a girl when the clock struck 12 for the new year. Could this be a sign that this is the year that this black nerd turns into a ladies man?

Me in Scooby outfit

Well, the thought was fun while it lasted. Happy New Year.

Today, I received an email from the Head of Programming and Creator Content of Revver.com to inform me that “Ask a Black Nerd” is currently featured on their home page!

Revver Featured

As you can see, I am the first video of the three featured for the day. I could’ve been the main video, but come on, how even can I beat Ninja Babes from Space 2. Yummmmmy!

Thanks for all the support and big thanks to Revver for the honor.

Andre in Backstage West

In addition to doing Black Nerd Comedy, I also write and star in Soul and Son, a webisode/mobisode series on the Comedy Time Network (www.comedytime.tv). The weekly actor’s resource, Backstage West, did a cover story this week about actors using the Internet to create content and promote themselves, and in the section about mobile content, the series and yours truly are featured!

I appreciate everyone who sent me emails, MySpace comments, and smoke signals to wish me a happy birthday yesterday. I really appreciate it. You all are such wonderful friends, even those of you who I only know from your profile picture or AOL Instant Messenger icon (why does my new friend look like Rainbow Brite?)

Some of you have been asking what I did for my birthday. I will tell you in blog form, but the “experience” is still continuing tonight, so I’ll put it all together in one blog soon. I would give you a hint, but this “bunny” has to “hop” out of here, so I’ll talk to you soon.

Doing this website and videos have been loads of fun. I love it. And now it’s nice to know that others love me, too, just like people love New York (the state, not the VH-1 “celebrity”).

Here are some hot blogs about black culture, nerd culture, and even Gremlins fanatics, that had great things to say “about your boy” (Is that how rappers say it? Or is that that movie that starred Hugh Grant?)

Nintendo DSIf you’ve seen my first vlog, “I’m a Black Nerd,” you know that at some point in my life, I’ve owned all the Nintendo systems… NES 8-bit, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Boy (Green-Screen, Color & Advance), GameCube, Wii.

I’ve owned every Nintendo system except one… not counting Virtual Boy because only 14 people owned that, I think.

And now my collection is complete. My roommate went to a taping of Deal or No Deal, and was surprised to find out it was a Christmas-themed show and they were giving away prizes.

Unfortunately, you have to pay taxes on everything you get, so she declined a lot of stuff (what is a black woman going to do with a Howie Mandel bobblehead, anyway?)

She called me up to tell me what she kept… a Roomba vacuum and such… then she said, “Oh, and I got this thing, I don’t know if you’d be interested in it. It’s a DS something…”

I pig-squealed. She had a Nintendo DS, and had no idea of the awesomeness she had!

She was planning to sell it on eBay, but after some intense negotiating and bartering, she got one of my old laptops (remember kids, a nerd always has a spare computer around), and I have the end of my Nintendo collection.

Oh wait, I guess I still have to get a Game Boy Micro, huh? But why?
