Another Black Nerd Comedy video makes it to the Revver home page. Those people have good taste.
This time, it’s A Miley that takes the top spot! I also love how it’s placed nicely to the featured Demi Lovato music video. “Who the hell’s Demi Lovato?”
My latest Black Nerd video, Hannah Montana, has made its way to the home page of Revver, appropriately placed with The Monkey Box’s “College Musical” (a High School Musical parody which is also very hilarious).
And again, let me explain this video, since it’s not like the others. I made this as a bet to people who watch my live show. So don’t worry, Black Nerd Comedy will still be Black Nerd Comedy. I have not been put under the Disney Channel umbrella… yet…
Last month, I went to the Revver Screening Series in Los Angeles and had the pleasure of running into fellow video creators Pansy Warrior Princess and Ask a Chola, who was the guest host of the recap video of the event. Check out the video to see three awesome “Cewebrities” talk to each other. And just to check out Chola and Pansy, they’re awesome blossom!
Revver.com has featured my latest video as one of their featured videos for the day, even placing me above comedy juggernaut National Lampoon! I’m really feeling the love people have for Client 9 and 3/4. It’s not call girl love, but it’s love nonetheless.
The Black Nerd is definitely feeling the viral video love. Just shortly after meeting with Revver and starting a live show on LiveVideo, now the juggernaut of video websites has partnered up with Black Nerd Comedy.
As of this week, I am officially part of the YouTube Partner Program. This is a special honor only for independent video creators chosen and approved by YouTube. Now hopefully you’ll see my nerdy mug plastered more all over the website.
This places me in the special high ranks of viral video greats like HappySlip, Tay Zonday, Lonelygirl15, LisaNova, Smosh, Kyle Sullivan, and even Ashley Tisdale! I feel so special to have VIP membership to this little club.
Thank you, YouTube, for appreciating my work and to the viral video community as a whole for supporting a Black Nerd.
You’ve seen postings about it throughout the site for the past week, but now I’m writing it in the blog to make it official. I have my own show on the Internet, BLACK NERD LIVE!
Recently, Revver teamed up with LiveVideo, and as a result, some Revver users were asked to join LiveVideo and start live shows. I was one of those people.
My first shows were last week (Mar 18, 20, and 23 respectively). And in each show, I bring up a topic, rant and rave, make people laugh, show off videos, and communicate with you through chat room or webcams of your own.
Looks like The New Black Nerd is more popular than expected. It was recently picked as an Editor’s Choice for Revver.com. Guess this old black nerd won’t be coming back anytime soon, huh?
The Revver love just doesn’t stop. Not only did they recently make “Computer Club” the Revver Video of the Day, but now Black Nerd Comedy is listed as one of Revver’s Featured Creators! Just go to revver.com/featured_creators to see all the featured creators, myself included. And once again, a big thank you to the guys and gals at Revver for appreciating my work.
Every weekday, The Revver Blog chooses the “Video of the Day,” a personally selected video enjoyed by the Revver crew to highlight. And I’m proud to announce that “Computer Club” was the Revver Video of the Day for Friday, January 25. Here’s the quote from Revver:
“Today’s video is from Black Nerd Comedy. The moniker sums up the schtick pretty nicely, but it’s the perfectly convincing execution that takes this beyond ‘fun with stereotypes’ and lands it squarely in the same region of genius inhabited by Christopher Guest and Catherine O’Hara.”
Hopefully, Christopher Guest checks this out when he casts his next movie. Hint, hint.
Yesterday, I got the opportunity to go to the offices of Revver.com and meet all the fine folks up there. They had been featuring a couple of my videos recently, and once we discovered we were in the same area, it seemed inevitable that we had to come face to face.
So here we are, Revver, face to face. A couple of silver spoons. Hoping to find, we’re two of a kind… okay, I’ll stop singing now.
