On Monday, November 12, 2007, yours truly will be a special guest on Gamer Girls Radio, a live Internet broadcast.
We’ll talk about my comedy, “Buy Mii a Wii,” and field any questions you may have. I would love for you to call in, so tune in.
The show starts at 12noon CST (10am on my West Coast, 1pm East Coast) online at GamerGirlsRadio.com.
UPDATE [11.13.07]: The interview I did with Gamer Girls Radio is now available to listen and download online! Special thanks to everyone who listened and/or called in to the interview live. And special thanks to the Gamer Girls themselves. DangerDoll and the gang were absolutely wonderful to talk to.
You asked for it! After numerous requests, here is a downloadable MP3 file of my ode to Nintendo, “Buy Mii a Wii.” Perfect for your portable audio players. Special thanks to Blip.tv for allowing downloadable audio files on their site.
A rap feud has begun, according to Polls Boutique. You can go online now and vote in the Wii Rap Video Battle! It’s my song, “Buy Mii a Wii,” vs. “Smoke the Wii” by the FanBoiz.
Also, while searching online, I found another Wii parody song, this one from Vision Good Life. It’s an Amy Winehouse parody called “Wiihab”.
Wow, all these Wii songs. Which one do you think is the best? C’mon, you can be honest. My feelings won’t get hurt (because I know you’ll say mine…)
P.S. For an absolutely wonderful Akon parody for a video game on another system, check out “Blame Halo 3″ by JamesatWar. It’s awesome! You gotta love a couch-sitting Rockette line.
[UPDATE 08.20.08]: The 9 on Yahoo! has been canceled, and unfortunately all of its clip archives have been taken down, so this segment is no longer viewable online. Sorry.
The 9 is a daily video show on Yahoo! that highlights the top nine web finds of the day with this really pretty host, Maria Sansone. In the special Oct 31 Halloween edition, not only do you get to see her dressed up as Ugly Betty and Dog the N-word yelling Bounty Hunter, but she also, in full nerd gear, talks about my “Buy Mii a Wii” video, which made #3 on the list!
Thanks a lot, Yahoo! Oh, and to answer your question, Maria, I’ll do a duet with you anytime. Was that a double entendre? I said it and I don’t even know.
If you’ve seen my first vlog, “I’m a Black Nerd,” you know that at some point in my life, I’ve owned all the Nintendo systems… NES 8-bit, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Game Boy (Green-Screen, Color & Advance), GameCube, Wii.
I’ve owned every Nintendo system except one… not counting Virtual Boy because only 14 people owned that, I think.
And now my collection is complete. My roommate went to a taping of Deal or No Deal, and was surprised to find out it was a Christmas-themed show and they were giving away prizes.
Unfortunately, you have to pay taxes on everything you get, so she declined a lot of stuff (what is a black woman going to do with a Howie Mandel bobblehead, anyway?)
She called me up to tell me what she kept… a Roomba vacuum and such… then she said, “Oh, and I got this thing, I don’t know if you’d be interested in it. It’s a DS something…”
I pig-squealed. She had a Nintendo DS, and had no idea of the awesomeness she had!
She was planning to sell it on eBay, but after some intense negotiating and bartering, she got one of my old laptops (remember kids, a nerd always has a spare computer around), and I have the end of my Nintendo collection.
Oh wait, I guess I still have to get a Game Boy Micro, huh? But why?
