This week, I happened to stumble across two items related to the illegitimate step-child of the sequel: the prequel.
That’s of course when a second movie is made, but the events of the second movie take place before the events of the first movie so that the second movie gives you a backstory to all of the events that happened in the first movie before moving on to the third movie which will then take place after the first movie, which now takes place after the second movie.
I’ve just gone cross-eyed.
First, I found out that Disney is releasing The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel’s Beginning. Then I read on ToonZone.net that Cartoon Network is planning to make a live-action prequel to the Scooby-Doo movies.
Which leads me to a question… has there been any successful prequel movie?
And Batman Begins doesn’t count.

It’s official. All hot chicks really want is a nerd.
Don’t believe me? Check out this hilarious video for Mariah Carey’s new single, “Touch My Body”. Not only does she seduce Jack McBrayer (who’s wearing a viking helmet for some reason), but she even knows the parameters of her wireless internet!
It gives hope for the rest of us nerds to find the multiple #1 Billboard single woman of our dreams.

I read a very interesting article recently regarding the boycott of Superhero Movie, released by the Weinstein Company, due to the company’s unfair treatment of the yet-unreleased Star Wars fan film Fanboys.
In Fanboys, one of the characters (who take a road trip to Skywalker Ranch before the release of The Phantom Menace) has cancer, and the powers that be wanted to make a version of the film without mentioning it.
This upset one of the producers of the film, it upset Star Wars fans who saw a rough cut of the film, and the boycotting began. You can read all about it at The Hollywood Reporter.
I find this article interesting for two reasons.

There has been a very funny news report going around that Saturday Night Live quickly needs to find someone to portray Barack Obama in political parodies, since the ONLY black cast member on the show, Kenan Thompson, does not fit the role.
How long has Saturday Night Live been on the air?
At one time they had Tim Meadows AND Chris Rock. Another time, Kenan Thompson AND Finesse Mitchell.
Seriously, after being on for so many years, you’d think they would work up the nerve to have more than at most 2 black people on the show.
And Maya Rudolph doesn’t count.

So the Writers Guild of America’s strike has officially ended, a deal has been made, and the writers can get back to work on Norbit 2 and a remake of Space Camp.
I’m just kidding, I’m glad the writers are back to work. I need my TV back, people. When Heroes gets replaced by American Gladiators and FOX’s biggest new show involves lie detectors, you know there’s trouble.
I’m also happy because I need new entertainment news as well. I’m tired of Britney, Amy, and Heather Mills. I want real entertainment news like the next Johnny Depp flick or what new cartoon-based movie starring Jason Lee and/or Brendan Fraser is coming out, not that Gary Coleman was secretly married and Miley Cyrus doesn’t wear seatbelts.
So writers, I’m glad you’re back. And you got more money. So you better earn it. If I see one more movie trailer come out that starts with “From the people who brought you Scary Movie,” then I’ll start striking my damn self!

For years, I have been trying to get a full-time career as an actor, but I realize I’ve been doing it all wrong. Instead of taking acting classes, studying the classics, and going on several auditions just to be rejected, what I should have done is:
- Be a hype man for a militant hip-hop group.
- Completely go the opposite route and ham it up for a celebrity reality show.
- Spin-off my own show where 20 hoochies and model wannabes fake-fight for my affections.
- Star in my own sitcom.
Stupid, you say? Well, that’s how Flavor Flav did it. Not only is he about to release a 3rd season of Flavor of Love, the man just got his own sitcom on MyNetworkTV.
So now I know I’ve been at this all wrong. First, I’m gonna see if Three 6 Mafia needs a hype man, then I’m starring on Celebrity Rehab 2, then I’ll pitch “Nerd of Love”, and then it’s off to my own sitcom.
Thank you, Flav, for showing me the light. I can’t wait until the day you receive a lifetime achievement awards at the Emmys.

Hells yeah! Lost is back people, and this black nerd couldn’t be happier! Here’s a play-by-play of the LOST season 4 premiere. It’s tough to write and watch at the same time, so sorry if it don’t make much sense much…
9:00 It’s on! It’s on! Set all phones to silent… oh wait, no one calls me.
9:02 Wait, is this Lost or The Dukes of Hazzard?
9:03 It’s Hurley? I could’ve sworn it would be Sawyer. And that makes 3 of the Oceanic 6. Cue the creepy logo…

The Boondocks has never been a show that shies away from controversial topics, just like South Park and, years before, All in the Family, and I have always appreciated that. I also have appreciated Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim for allowing them to do that.
This show has made fun of everything… black people, white people, the N word, overeating, Oprah, snitching, religion, MySpace, gold diggers, pimps, anime, Soul Plane…
You would think there would be no sacred topic at all for this show or the network. But that all changed this season.
And the topic that seems perfect for The Boondocks to make fun of is the one entity able to cause Cartoon Network to ban two episodes of the series from airing. That topic…
Black Entertainment Television.

This has to be one of the most fun games I have found on the Internet. You are shown a very close-up, blurry picture of a, let’s say “emotional,” look on a person’s face, and you have to guess whether it’s the face of a High School Musical star in mid-song or an adult film actor’s face in mid… um… let’s just stop at mid.
So here it is… High School Musical Face or O-Face?

So it’s been all over the news lately about leaked nude photos of High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens. The fact that this was “somewhat” big news proves to me one thing.
More adults watch High School Musical than care to admit.
Now I’ll be honest with you, I’m a Disney Channel nerd. Been that way since the 90’s Mickey Mouse Club remake (Any “Match Point” fans in the house?) What can I say, I had a huge crush on Roque.
And I knew Shia LeBeouf long before Transformers, on a little show called Even Stevens.
But, seriously, other than me, how does anyone over the age of 14 even know who Vanessa Anne Hudgens is if you all so call claimed to have never seen High School Musical?
What, did everyone go see her in the Thunderbirds movie and not tell me?
