I was reading a comment by BNC fan Anders who told me he accidentally typed his name wrong recently and typed Anerds, or “A Nerds.”

Then it hit me, something I haven’t thought about for a long time. The letters in my first name, Andre, can be rearranged to spell “A nerd!” How cool is that, people? I’m not just a nerd by action, I’m a nerd by subliminal message in my own first name!

That makes the idea of changing this website to AndreANerd.com sound appetizing.

However, I’m certain with that spelling, people would get it wrong and call it “Andrea Nerd.com” and if you’ve seen my 5 Black Nerd Facts video, you know I have a long history of dealing with being called Andrea, and I choose not to go back there again.

The thing that’s funny about Hollywood is that you can meet someone who’s a wonderful and strong working actor and not even know it. That’s what happened to me tonight.

I was performing at ComedySportz in Hollywood. It’s a show where two teams play improv games to compete for laughs and points. It’s a totally cool show and you should see it, it’s for all ages. Okay, plug over, back to the story.

One of the games was a guessing game that required me to leave the room. To prove we’re not cheating (cause no one believes in magic anymore), we take an audience member with us.

A young lady volunteered to go out of the room and we stand outside to make small talk.

She introduces herself. Her name is Vanessa.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2008 full of joy, cheer, and of course, lots of black nerd comedy. You know, for the first time in years, I actually kissed a girl when the clock struck 12 for the new year. Could this be a sign that this is the year that this black nerd turns into a ladies man?

A rap feud has begun, according to Polls Boutique. You can go online now and vote in the Wii Rap Video Battle! It’s my song, “Buy Mii a Wii,” vs. “Smoke the Wii” by the FanBoiz.

Also, while searching online, I found another Wii parody song, this one from Vision Good Life. It’s an Amy Winehouse parody called “Wiihab”.

Wow, all these Wii songs. Which one do you think is the best? C’mon, you can be honest. My feelings won’t get hurt (because I know you’ll say mine…)

I appreciate everyone who sent me emails, MySpace comments, and smoke signals to wish me a happy birthday yesterday. I really appreciate it. You all are such wonderful friends, even those of you who I only know from your profile picture or AOL Instant Messenger icon (why does my new friend look like Rainbow Brite?)

Some of you have been asking what I did for my birthday. I will tell you in blog form, but the “experience” is still continuing tonight, so I’ll put it all together in one blog soon. I would give you a hint, but this “bunny” has to “hop” out of here, so I’ll talk to you soon.

I have to say, for one who likes to joke about celebs, I’ve been pretty lean on Britney Spears.

I didn’t blast her new song (just said, “eh”). I didn’t call her fat at the VMA’s (just said probably wasn’t the best outfit for a mother of two). Actually felt bad for her for losing her kids.

But today’s news story put me over the edge. The story that she immediately was able to get a California Driver’s License.

Britney Spears, who already has been busted on hit and runs, child endangerment in cars, and possibly driving under AND over the influence, gets her driver’s license.

And I can’t.

I was a brainy kid, I can develop websites, I grew up on Saturday Morning Cartoons.

I hate when people think my name is Andrea, I have a crush on Ugly Betty (the character, not the actress), I think the Super Mario Bros. movie deserves a second chance.

I went to a Science, Math and Technology Academy in high school, I know too many TV theme songs, I daydream about Rosario Dawson.

I haven’t given up on Lost, I am extremely ticklish, I used to be scared of Gremlins… now I collect them!

I love all forms of comedy, I enjoy shopping at Goodwill, I can do various cartoon and celebrity impressions, I have a website dedicated to Family Matters.

I’ve owned every version of Nintendo released (except Virtual Boy but that doesn’t count).
