I have not watched one single episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Just wasn’t all that interested. I was so in Conan mode! But Jimmy, congrats, you found out a way to make me watch an episode of your show. And that was this clip.

Apparently, Jimmy Fallon has had a running gag that he wants the entire cast of Saved by the Bell have a reunion on their show. It may have seem like a fluke idea, but then in one of the most awesome interviews ever, Mark-Paul Gosselaar comes out dressed as full-on Zack Morris and agrees to do the reunion. As a matter of fact, only Screech and Kelly are left (seriously? How is Screech NOT in on this yet? Is he busy teaching people chess?)

TALKBACK: What did you think of “Zack Morris” on Jimmy Fallon? And what is your favorite Saved by the Bell character or moment?

I really enjoyed the interview. Not only does Mark-Paul do THE ENTIRE FREAKIN’ INTERVIEW as Zack Morris (sweet!) but he does all the classic SbtB traits: times out the show, lowers a poster of Kelly Kapowski, shows his hatred to Jeff the college student that took her away from him, and even gives a shout-out to Stacey Carosi (maybe she’ll be down now that King of Queens is over).

He even pulls out some obscure references. I don’t know how many people in the audience got the Kelly changed zip codes reference (she was on Beverly Hills 90210… the old one). And kudos to anyone who got him moving to California from Indiana with his two best friends and principal. All I’ve got to say is… Good Morning, Miss Bliss.

That would have been enough… but he even does more! He joins the band and sings the Zack Attack classic, “Friends Forever.” Zack Morris singing a Saved by the Bell song with The Roots. Sorry Jimmy Fallon, cancel your show now. Even the reunion won’t be as cool as this, and nothing better can ever happen on your show. EVER!

I applaud Mark-Paul for doing this for again proving you can do your thing as an actor and still appreciate your roots. I understand and know it’s tough for child stars to break free of their character once the show is over. But it’s another thing to go back and act like it was the worst thing in your life or career, cause many people don’t get that! And it’s THAT that made us know who you are. So kudos for embracing your classic Zack, kudos.

Now I guess I will go back to not watching Jimmy Fallon until the reunion happens. And if I ever get my own talk show, best believe I will start up a similar reunion for Family Matters or the Power Rangers.
