I was a brainy kid, I can develop websites, I grew up on Saturday Morning Cartoons.

I hate when people think my name is Andrea, I have a crush on Ugly Betty (the character, not the actress), I think the Super Mario Bros. movie deserves a second chance.

I went to a Science, Math and Technology Academy in high school, I know too many TV theme songs, I daydream about Rosario Dawson.

I haven’t given up on Lost, I am extremely ticklish, I used to be scared of Gremlins… now I collect them!

I love all forms of comedy, I enjoy shopping at Goodwill, I can do various cartoon and celebrity impressions, I have a website dedicated to Family Matters.

I’ve owned every version of Nintendo released (except Virtual Boy but that doesn’t count).

I miss classic Nickelodeon, I have the Green Power Ranger mini-series on videotape, I hope Sonic will be in the new Smash Bros. game, I will see anything with the words “Teenage” “Mutant” “Ninja” and “Turtles” in the title.

I secretly love The Disney Channel, I love to write and draw, I believe Not Another Teen Movie is one of the funniest movie parodies ever, I like Punky Brewster in live-action and animated form.

I think not being picked for couple skate is the worst rejection ever, I am strangely obsessed with Burger King’s Dutch Apple Pies, I think Cree Summer is awesome.

I tell classic anecdotes of growing up a black nerd to others, I secretly watch Disney Channel shows, I challenge you to Putt-Putt Golf and Games, I give the best foot massages, I actually liked Glitter.

I always order from the dollar menu, I have a Space Jam poster, I think I’m falling in love with you, I love to laugh…

…And I own a Scooby-Doo costume and a huge Smurf collection (now just sit back and watch the ladies come).

I know there are other black nerds out there in hiding. But I say it loud… I’m black, I’m a nerd, and I’m proud!
